What tasks and goals do you pursue as the technical director of frottana Textil GmbH?
Our main premise lies in the on-time and quality-compliant production of our products in order to achieve a high level of customer satisfaction. In order for frottana Textil GmbH & Co. KG to stand out in the future from the large number of terry toweling manufacturers established on the market, it is extremely important to constantly innovate and thus add value, and thus also a high level of customer interest in our products true.
Our company currently has three sales channels. On the one hand the brand Frottana, which moves in the middle price segment. The lifestyle brand Möve has a high degree of innovation and is diversified in the product range, it is mainly sold in specialist shops and its own stores. Möve -Professional covers the advertising material and hotel sector accordingly and convinces with very individual product design. Due to the shift in growth markets, Frottana will continue to invest in online trading in the coming years.
Do you pursue the material cycle approach in your company?
We are certified in quality / environmental and energy management. In addition, our corporate strategy aims to reduce the total amount of waste generated and to use the materials used in a resource-saving manner; recyclable raw materials are almost completely recycled.
In addition, Frottana operates its own combined heat and power plant and photovoltaic systems to generate its own electricity, thereby making a major contribution to environmentally friendly energy production. In addition, annual investments are made which improve the energy balance and thus further minimize the carbon footprint.
What perspectives and special fields of application do you see for 3D printing in the future and where can AMiCE play a supporting role?
In addition to terry towels, we sell a wide range of bed and bathroom accessories and see significant potential for integrating 3D printing. Above all, we see opportunities in prototype construction and in the production of customized small series, which we could then market specifically to Möve -professional. With regard to collection development, further potential is seen.
As part of the AMiCE project, I can imagine the development and expansion of an SME network, in which existing technologies in the additive area are used, utilized and thus the production of prototypes is made possible.
