EU Urban Agenda on Greening Cities in Maribor

The Municipality of Maribor (MOM) is participating in cooperation with the Association of Municipalities of Slovenia (AMOS) in Urban Agenda for the EU – Greening cities.  AMOS is a member of the “Greening cities” thematic partnership which will focus on green and blue infrastructure in an urban context, providing suggestions for action and contributing examples of good practice.

The work of the Partnership will result in an Action Plan proposing actions to be addressed by the Member States and the European Commission. A draft Action Plan is currently out for public consultation and foresees 5 actions:

1.       Need for Green: Methodology for quantifying the demand for green infrastructure at local level

2.       Indicator System for Evaluating Urban Nature Plans

3.       Reaching Meaningful Urban Greening Targets

4.       Strengthening Structural Funding for Urban Green Infrastructure

5.       Enhancing the Use of Innovative Funding by Urban Authorities to Green Cities
