The goal was to gain insights from academic startup champions across Europe related to good practices for supporting creative startup ecosystems.

This event was moderated by Maja Cukusic from FEBT. Insights from academic startup champions were provided by Sofía Louise Martínez-Martínez (Universidad de Málaga, Spain), Kristina Coric (Stuttgart Media University, Germany), Carole Osmond and Kim Waechtler (Université de Bretagne Occidentale, France), and Ana Milicevic (Faculty of Organizational Sciences at University of Belgrade, Serbia).

The key message was that integrating actors from diverse fields and continuous engagement with the ecosystem is key to driving innovation and growth in the (creative) startup landscape.

Key points included:

  • Mixing students from different fields to enhance creativity and innovation.
  • Engaging with ecosystem actors to stay updated with the latest trends and creative practices.
  • Establishing an artist-in-residence programme with a dedicated space to work and interact with business students, fostering a unique environment for inspiration and innovative cross-disciplinary projects.
  • Promoting programmes that support minorities in the startup ecosystem.

We will use these insights to enhance our practices and better support our entrepreneurial community.
