WWF Hungary staff and volunteers teamed up to install an electric fence on the outskirts of Dövény, Hungary. This state-of-the-art system was provided to a local livestock keeper through the LECA project. Soon, 100 sheep will be grazing across a 10-hectare area, part of which is a protected Natura 2000 site. In addition to the electric fence, two majestic kuvasz dogs, a traditional Hungarian breed, will stand guard over the flock.
But WWF Hungary’s support doesn’t stop there. Through the LECA project, they’re not just providing electric fences—they’re also equipping livestock keepers with essential knowledge about large carnivores and expert tips. To spread the word, a video crew joined WWF Hungary at the site to film a tutorial on building predator-proof electric fences.
