Dutch Bioeconomy Solutions and Knowledge Exchange with CEE2ACT Project in Wageningen University

Some representatives of BIOECO-UP project had an opportunity to take part in a site visit in Wageningen University (NL) supported by CEE2ACT  project demonstrating the Dutch approach to Bioeconomy.  

The main goal of CEE2ACT is to empower countries in Central Eastern Europe and beyond (Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Greece, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia and Slovenia) to develop circular bioeconomy strategies and action plans through innovative governance models. The objective is to achieve better informed decision-making processes, societal engagement and innovation, building on the practice of partners from contributing countries (Austria, Germany, The Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, Finland, Sweden), and addressing relevant economic, social and environmental aspects.

WUR is one of the top-ranked universities in the world. Besides networking the key objectives of the event was to enable knowledge exchange on best practices, approaches and way of collaboration. During the 2-day meeting the participants got an insight into the basic topics of bioeconomy concept at a high-end level. The CEE2ACT project members and their guests  gained impressions on know-how and best practices of bioeconomy as well as the Lighthouse Farms of WUR which offered proven new approach to agriculture and ground breaking solutions to farming.
