E-institute is a private non-profit organisation dedicated to supporting communities and companies with decarbonisation and climate resilience and introducing innovative approaches such as circular economy. The interdisciplinary team of 18 experts is working on the foundation of organisations with 20 years of experience in the field of sustainable development.

The e-institute is well connected to different national and international organisations and networks active in climate-related challenges. It was the national EIT Climate-KIC HUB coordinator for a couple of years and is an active member of ACR+, Climate KIC, and different partnerships at the national level. The institute is also actively working with the Circular Cities and Regions Initiative on the development of a circular bioeconomy in the CCRI pilot region Podravje.

By implementing project HEAT 35, the E-institute aims to upgrade the results from the Interreg Central Europe CE-HEAT project, where a toolbox for waste-heat utilisation was developed. Institute was the project lead partner and is still owning and managing the on-line waste heat utilisation portal https://www.waste-heat.eu.  District heating systems are considered as important potential users of waste heat when travelling the path of decarbonisation.

E-institute will support the partnership with know-how on waste heat utilisation and business models supporting the development of a new generation of district heating systems. The organisation will, on the other hand, gain new competencies and knowledge through familiarising itself with the specifics of DH systems decarbonisation and creating partnerships with new organisations and stakeholders.
