Food Innovation Forum 2024 will take place at the Vetmeduni Vienna (Austria) from November 13th to 14th, 2024). Organized by FFoQSI, this year’s theme is “Towards Sustainable Food Systems,” focusing on the challenges and opportunities in agriculture and food production.
Experts from around the world will gather to discuss the latest scientific research and innovative solutions for building sustainable food networks.
At the event a presentation from the University of Applied Sciences BFI Vienna will be carried out by David Strauss, introducing Alternative Food Networks (AFNs) as part of the EU Interreg project Food4CE.
The forum promises an exciting agenda including:
- Insights into ethical food production issues, from tackling food waste to reducing meat consumption.
- New strategies for food hygiene and safety, highlighting ways to minimize the use of antibiotics and pesticides.
- Opportunities presented by digitalization in the food industry.
- A deeper look into the evolving impact of climate change, such as the spread of diseases and invasive species.
- Mapping pathogenic and spoilage-related microorganisms, aiding the prevention of faulty food production.
