After the first training on multi-hazard events, Austrian LOCALIENCE project partners now held the second training on nature-based solutions. This session focused on the possibilities of water retention and sediment management in the (wider) area as climate change adaptation measures.
In addition to the technical possibilities, the financing of such measures was intensively discussed. Farmers’ commitment to climate change mitigation, adaptation, biodiversity and groundwater protection needs to be rewarded. This can be done through cross-cutting funds, which require an interdisciplinary approach to the treatment of our soils.
Special thanks to the experts from HUMUS+ for the thought-provoking workshop and to all participants for the engaged discussions – in theory and in practice on the field!
