Date: 17.12.2024
Climate change and the resulting increasingly frequent negative effects represent important challenges for local communities, affecting our lives and work. As a society, we must adapt to them and seek solutions for greater climate resilience.

Regional Development Agency for Podravje – Maribor, in collaboration with the Municipality of Maribor and Energap – Energy and Climate Agency of Podravje, addressed the importance of effective climate change management and adaptation at the regional stakeholder meeting “Green Mission for Climate” on December 3, 2024.

At the event, relevant ongoing activities within the framework of regional projects on climate adaptation and mitigation were demonstrated, among them also an update on the implementation of the pilot activity of the MISSION CE CLIMATE project | Interreg CENTRAL EUROPE Programme, with the greening of the bus station in Maribor as part of the heat island rehabilitation.

Participants also got to learn about the importance of assessing climate resilience and implementing adaptation measures as an important part of planning investment projects under the 2021-2027 financial framework.

Climate change demands our immediate attention. Let’s join the efforts for a sustainable future by investing in adaptation, building resilience and working together for effective solutions. Every action counts – let’s act now to protect our environment, communities and future generations.
