The Hackathon was an intensive, collaborative effort that encouraged participants to think outside the box, harnessing their diverse skills in technology, sustainability, and tourism. Over the course of the event, students engaged in spirited brainstorming sessions, developing practical and innovative solutions to enhance sustainability in tourism.
The event emphasized the importance of integrating digital technologies and eco-friendly practices to create a more sustainable and engaging tourism experience. The creative energy and dedication of the participants were evident in the diversity and ingenuity of the final concepts.
The event not only provided a platform for students to showcase their thoughts and innovative ideas but also underscored the critical role of innovation in promoting sustainable tourism practices.
Students came up with five DGC ideas including wireless smart solar station, mobile app with creative maps for both adults and kids, kit with a reusable eco-friendly kit, platform for renting stuff or glass beverages dispensers. Ideas were based on identifying environmental issues such as excessive consumerism and overuse of resources, while also considering the needs of tourists. These ideas conceived during the hackathon stand as a testament to the power of collaboration and creativity, paving the way for a greener, more sustainable future in the tourism industry.
Hackathon is a powerful tool for all who wants to empower participant, foster innovation and develop creative solutions which can contribute to Capacity2Transform project.
