On the evening of 18 December 2024, German JET-Alliance members gathered in person and online for their fifth meeting. This event followed the JETforCE project meeting held earlier in the month in Weiz, which two JETA members attended. Building on this, the meeting provided an opportunity to reflect on our impressions of Styria and review the outcomes of the conference.
During the presentation of Transnational Pilot 2, JETA members emphasised the importance of ensuring the tool is clear and transparent in its criteria for evaluating the data provided. As project partners, we consider this a key piece of feedback and hope it will be integrated as development progresses.
The second highlight of the evening was a presentation by Dr Felix Panitz, a representative of Umweltinitiative Sohland, who recently completed the construction of a publicly funded solar energy plant on a farm building. Dr Panitz detailed the process that led his team to this achievement, expressing his hope that the project could serve as a model for similar organisations and interest groups in the region.
Looking ahead to 2025, we also explored potential themes for the 11th Bautzen Energy Forum and shared the dates of the next JETforCE project meeting in TelĨ with our members.
