The MESTRI-CE Training Curriculum is a comprehensive capacity-building initiative designed to equip professionals with the skills and knowledge needed to drive sustainable building renovation across Europe. By addressing key challenges in energy management, sustainability assessment, and green financing, the program aims to bridge the energy performance gap and promote innovative solutions for energy-efficient buildings.
The training is tailored for:

· Project developers – professionals managing renovation projects
· Financial institutions – investors and policymakers in green financing
· Public authorities – local and regional policymakers driving sustainability
The Curriculum was developed through a structured, stakeholder-driven approach to address key skills gaps in energy-efficient building renovation.
The process began with a SWOT analysis and a stakeholder survey across five pilot countries (Austria, Croatia, Germany, Italy, and Poland). Insights from building professionals, project developers, policymakers, and financial institutions helped shape the curriculum by identifying priority training needs and preferred learning formats.
By bringing together diverse stakeholders and fostering knowledge exchange, the MESTRI-CE Training Curriculum contributes to the long-term goal of smarter, greener, and financially sustainable building renovations.
The curriculum consists of six specialized training modules, covering:
· energy management in buildings,
· energy performance planning for building portfolio
· sustainability assessment of buildings,
· putting sustainability building methodology into practice
· financial and economic evaluation of building renovation projects
· innovative financing models.
The content is directly linked to MESTRI-CE project deliverables and incorporates both theoretical knowledge and hands-on exercises for practical application.
To ensure broad accessibility and relevance, the training materials are customizable and available in multiple languages. The program includes online webinars and in-person workshops, with the MESTRI-CE certification for professionals. The curriculum will be continuously updated based on feedback and evolving needs of project stakeholders.
