What has already been implemented:
The collection of data from individual buildings is of great importance for the creation of renovation of roadmaps. Inspections, during which information on the building can be collected and checked directly on site, harbour great potential. A data gathering checklist was created for this purpose and implemented in the tool so that all important information is taken into account and, if possible, collected directly. Findings from inspections are thus stored for the long term and the history can be evaluated at any time.
Building modelling is just as important as a solid data basis. This is based on 3D models, which are already publicly available in some countries, but not in others. If this is not the case, a way has been developed to reproduce these models manually. LOD-0 data and elevation data for the building can be used for this. This enables all buildings to be thermally simulated in the tool and measures for refurbishment to be proposed.
In order to be able to evaluate further sustainability criteria, relevant indicators are selected on the basis of Workpackage 2 (Methodological framework for transposition of EU building standards and tools) of the MESTRI project, which should be able to be mapped in the app. This should enable buildings to be categorised not only according to their need for renovation, but also according to general sustainability criteria.
The app can already be tested in Germany and is being used by the project partner Energy Agency of North Bavaria for the first pilot project. The initial findings are quite impressive. The intuitive user interface, the different areas of application and the results have convinced the project partner.
Now it´s time for testing!
What else is being implemented:
The Austrian project partners Energy Agency of Styria and e7 have been able to enter their pilot project in the Austria-specific version of the app and put it through its paces since the beginning of February.
Italy, Croatia and Poland are next in line and will be able to fill in and test the tool with data from their pilot projects from April on. We are excited to see what findings we will be able to present.
Development is definitely going in the right direction!
