Interreg Central Europe: the RE-PUBLIC SPACES project adapts historic towns to climate change

Date: 09.07.2024
Historic centres are made up of buildings with courtyards. Courtyards represent a huge potential and challenge for the proper functioning and design of the urban landscape. They also represent a huge reservoir of spaces that, despite their fragmented structure, are important on the scale of the whole urban system. Moreover, these spaces are often neglected, resulting in a lack of social relationships. Solutions are needed at the societal level, as well as legislative and organisational action to change policies to adapt cities to climate change. The international RE-PUBLIC SPACES project aims to find innovative solutions to this issue.
