Care Education Forum – National network meeting – OTH Regensburg

At the OTH Regensburg the Care Education Forum took place on January 8, 2025. This full-day event focused on the application of Virtual Reality (VR) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in nursing education, offering practical demonstrations, expert presentations, and networking opportunities.

The main topics of the meeting included an introduction to various VR development tools and an insight into a VR application from neurosurgery. The event enabled participants to learn more about the use of these technologies in nursing training and to discuss how they can be integrated into teaching. Another focus was the discussion about the potential and challenges of using AI and VR in nursing.

The network meeting showed that there is great interest in the integration of VR and AI in nursing education. Particular emphasis was placed on the need to integrate these technologies into existing curricula and to offer students practical, immersive learning environments. Valuable insights were gained into how such technologies can be used in nursing training and what challenges need to be considered.

The event contributed to gaining new perspectives and ideas for the future integration of VR and AI in nursing education and at the same time opened up opportunities for future collaborations and pilot projects.

The event was attended by 25 nursing educators, Master’s students in nursing, school administrators and a representative from neurosurgery, who actively took part in the discussions and presentations.

As part of the meeting, there were also conducted a workshop within the framework of National Open Innovation Workshop.
