The REGIOSTARS 2023 winners have been announced by Commissioner Elisa Ferreira in Ostrava (Czech Republic) on 16 November. Among the six winners was also our Interreg CENTRAL EUROPE project Dynaxibility4CE. It was selected by an expert jury as the best European-funded project in the category ‘A connected Europe’.
The REGIOSTARS Awards are the yearly competition organised by the European Commission’s Directorate General Regional and Urban Policies since 2008. Over the years it has become Europe’s label of excellence for EU-funded projects, which demonstrate the impact and inclusiveness of regional development.
By putting forward solutions to common challenges, the REGIOSTARS have inspired regions to deliver impacts financed by EU regional policy. Our project Dynaxibility4CE boosted eco-friendly transportation and air quality in central Europe by enhancing the capabilities of public transport authorities to handle emerging mobility trends. It offered strategies and tools for adaptable urban mobility planning. Additionally, the project assisted seven partner cities and regions in adopting sustainable urban mobility plans in line with current trends.
This recognition on the European level confirms that a commitment to fostering cooperation is the right way to delivering positive changes in urban mobility for the benefit of the entire European community. It proves that #cooperationiscentral for a better connected, modern, secure and smart infrastructure, which is key to achieving cohesion and delivering the European Green Deal.
