The activity is supported by UNIBO and RiNOVA partners. The seminar will mainly involve Master’s students (II Degree Master on “Design and Management of Modern, Sustainable and Technologically Advanced Cultivation Systems”), who will have the opportunity to use the Visual Soil Assessment (VSA) tool directly in the field.
The day will therefore be divided into four main parts:
1) Recall of theory, division into three groups, distribution of material
2) Identification of three sampling points (one per group) and start of the activity
3) Rotation of groups to the three sampling stations
4) Comparison and active discussion of the results obtained
The activities will be carried out according to this outline programme:
Morning: 9.30 am to 12.30 pm
Lunch break
Afternoon: 1.30 pm – 4.30 pm
Students are advised to dress comfortably and wear footwear appropriate to the field activities and the season.
NB. In the event of adverse weather conditions, the lesson will move to DISTAL (Aula Baldoni) and will focus on the analysis of other case studies related to the evaluation of soil as a result of different experimental approaches to soil management.
