GreenPATH Joint Transnational Review Workshop: Promoting Sustainable Commuting in Central Europe

The GreenPATH project is making strides in promoting sustainable commuting solutions across Central Europe. As part of our commitment to developing climate-friendly mobility strategies, we are hosting a Joint Transnational Review Workshop (JTRW) on February 11th, 2024, from 10:00 to 12:00 CET.

About the Workshop

This workshop brings together GreenPATH project partners, mobility experts, and key stakeholders to discuss the results of the Needs and Gaps Analysis conducted across various Functional Urban Areas (FUAs). This analysis is a critical step in understanding regional mobility challenges and shaping effective pilot actions within the project.

Key Topics

🔹 Presentation of Findings – Partners will share insights from their territorial analyses, highlighting specific challenges and opportunities.

🔹 GreenPATH Pilot Actions – An overview of upcoming mobility solutions to be tested within the project in the cities of Vienna, Berlin, Maribor, Osijek, Monza, Kecskemet and Ravenna.

🔹 Focus on Friuli-Venezia Giulia case study – A dedicated session will present the scope and status of from the ongoing study on cross-border commuting (IT-SI).
🔹 Expert Roundtable – A discussion featuring renowned mobility specialists with expertise in sustainable commuting and EU projects.

🔹 Luca Mantecchini (ITL)

Luca Mantecchini specializes in transport planning and mobility management with a strong focus on sustainable mobility policies. His research contributes to the development of efficient and eco-friendly transport systems.

 

🔹 Dr. Luca Nitschke (Berlin)

Project Leader, Institute for Social-Ecological Research (ISOE)
Dr. Nitschke led the “PendelLabor” research project, which explored innovative approaches to commuting behaviors and sustainable transport—highly relevant to GreenPATH’s objectives.

 

🔹 Michael Abraham (Berlin)

Head of Municipal Mobility Management, Deutsche Plattform für Mobilitätsmanagement e.V. (DEPOMM)
Michael Abraham is a leading expert in mobility management strategies for municipalities, with hands-on experience in implementing sustainable commuting solutions across Germany.

🔹 Sandra Wegener (BOKU)

Senior Scientist, Institute for Transport Studies, BOKU University
Sandra Wegener has been actively involved in multiple European and national projects focusing on mobility management, active mobility, and health promotion. She currently advises the Austrian Health Fund on active mobility strategies and works on intersectoral cooperation between transport and health.

In addition to expert insights, GreenPATH partners are also involving local stakeholders, ensuring that the workshop fosters collaborative knowledge-sharing and helps co-create innovative mobility solutions.
