The transformation of agricultural by-products into high-protein products, collagen extraction for use in cosmetics and food, the creation of hyper-protein foods, the reuse of products for bioplastics production, and the extraction of active substances for the development of biostimulants—these are some of the innovative solutions and opportunities that emerged during the seminar “How to Add Value to Agricultural By-Products: Opportunities for Agricultural Enterprises.” The event took place on January 30 at Fieragricola Tech and was organized by Veneto Agricoltura as part of the activities of the Interreg Central Europe project TeBiCE.
During the seminar, Lorenzo Furlan, Director of the Innovation and Experimentation Division at Veneto Agricoltura and TeBiCE project coordinator, presented the project’s activities and initial results. Professors from the University of Verona and Padua showcased new solutions and opportunities for agricultural enterprises—specifically, in the valorization of by-products from the wine industry and in microbial biotechnology for converting plant waste into bio-products.
During the seminar, the Value Chain Generator was presented—a tool designed within the TeBiCE project framework to support agricultural enterprises in developing new value chains.
