Food4CE is excited to announce an upcoming online workshop, organized by the Slovenian ORbITaLA Innovation Hub, focused on Sustainable logistics: transport optimisation, electric vehicles and external support – outsourcing of transportation”.

The workshop will be held online via Microsoft Teams on Wednesday, 29th January 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM (CET).

It will be held in Slovenian language.

Designed for anyone managing transport operations, delivering food products, or considering a transition to electric vehicles, this workshop provides actionable advice to help you reduce transport expenses and enhance your business efficiency.

Delivery by our own vehicles: Practical advice and key guidelines

Transport costs and calculation

Dr. Maršenka Marksel (Faculty of Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering and Architecture, University of Maribor)

Key factors influencing transport costs: distances, logistics strategies, cargo sizes, frequency of deliveries. Special emphasis will be given to practical examples for accurate cost calculations, considering different vehicle types, distances and package sizes.

Buying an electric vehicle and possible subsidies

Dr. Maršenka Marksel (Faculty of Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering and Architecture, University of Maribor)

The benefits of electric vehicles, practical guidelines for selection and purchasing of a vehicle tailored to the needs of local food providers. The workshop will also present cost calculations for the purchase, maintenance and use of electric vehicles.

Optimisation of transport routes

Martin Pečar (OmniOpti Ltd.)

A practical demonstration of the optimisation process: from data import to the optimised route.

Outsourcing: how to organise food delivery efficiently

Klemen Hartman, Krapše Ltd.

Choosing an external transport operator – a presentation of various practical examples of cooperation with external logistics providers.

Alen Kahvedzic, Pošta Slovenije Ltd.

Presentation of the possibilities of sending food products via Pošta Slovenije (types of products, delivery times, approximate delivery costs and payment methods (by consignment, monthly lump sum).

Andrej Cipola, Murska transport Ltd.

Possibilities to transport fruit, vegetables, dairy products and meat in vehicles with a two-regime temperature system (+5/-20 C). The company carries out transport operations and rents a variety of vehicles: refrigerators, two-regime trailers.
