Lublin, Poland – In an effort to promote environmental awareness and reduce electronic waste, the City of Lublin has launched the WEEE Lives campaign. Five local primary schools – SP 2, SP 31, SP 34, SP 46, and SP 51 – are participating in the pilot program, which aims to collect the largest amount of WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) measuring up to 50 cm and weighing up to 10 kg.
The winning school will receive a modern waste sorting station, and students from the winning classes will receive small prizes. The campaign is part of the broader Circular WEEEP project, which seeks to promote sustainable waste management practices.
Lublin is not alone in this initiative; schools from Rogaska Slatina, Slovenia, and Prague, Czech Republic, are also taking part in the WEEE Lives campaign. By encouraging students to collect and recycle electronic waste, the organizers hope to raise awareness about the environmental impact of electronic devices and promote a more sustainable future.
