The sixth edition of the mobility course will take place between 9 May and 10 October 2024, once again organised by STA – Trasport agency of the Province of Bolzano. The range of course topics is broad and covers all key aspects of sustainable mobility, with particular attention paid to local public transport. The course content is divided into 5 one-day modules and is taught both theoretically and practically.
The course is aimed at all those who shape mobility in the Province of Bolzano (those responsible in politics and administration) and plan and construct infrastructures in the mobility sector.
Raphael Palla from the Office for Municipality Planning of the Autonomous Province of Bolzano held a workshop on ‘Upgrading public spaces: promoting encounters and independence’. Among other things, he highlighted the enormous potential of repurposing surface parking spaces and prioritising ‘vulnerable road users’ in planning. During the workshop, the participants used map extracts of South Tyrolean villages and towns to identify places with the potential to promote encounters and independence and collected ideas and measures to achieve this goal.
