This innovative project, funded by the European Union through the Interreg Central Europe program, aims to improve the quality of life in rural areas through the development of sustainable mobility.
The Mayor of Klis Municipality, Jakov Vetma, expressed his satisfaction with participating in this cross-border project and emphasized the importance of cooperation with international partners. “This is one of the cross-border projects that the Municipality of Klis is implementing in cooperation with its partners. Through cross-border cooperation and projects like this, we have done a lot for our municipality” said Vetma. He also pointed out that the project includes countries such as Italy, Hungary and Germany, and added: “I think we will learn a lot from them and learn something new.”
The “Green LaMiS” project, will bring numerous benefits to the residents of the rural parts of this municipality. The aim of the project is to improve and optimise social services that are currently unavailable or underdeveloped in these areas. Vetma stressed that it often happens that in the centres of municipalities there are all the necessary facilities, while in rural areas there is a lack of basic services. “We want all our residents to have equal rights, benefits and opportunities” the mayor stressed.
