Together Towards Climate Mitigation and Decarbonisation

The event “Together Towards Climate Mitigation and Decarbonisation” brought together regional and international stakeholders to explore how digital innovation and circular economy practices can enhance urban resilience in the face of climate change. Hosted at the Faculty of Economics TUKE in Košice, the gathering provided a collaborative space for presenting strategies, sharing experiences, and initiating concrete actions toward a greener, more sustainable city.

The focus was placed on Košice’s climate adaptation journey, including detailed presentations of the Košice Adaptation Plan 2022–2030, which outlines strategic pathways for local climate resilience and decarbonisation. Contributions from the Carpathian Development Institute shed light on grassroots and regional mitigation efforts, while the City of Košice showcased its long-term sustainability vision.

A major highlight of the event was the presentation of the SMART CIRCUIT project, which demonstrated how digital tools—including ICT applications, data-driven platforms, and circular economy frameworks—can be leveraged to enhance urban adaptation measures. The project sparked significant interest among attendees for its potential to support sustainable urban development through tech-enabled solutions.
