Aromatherapy Workshops with the Essential Oils Creation

The Aromatherapy Workshops with the Essential Oils Creation was an engaging and informative event, where participants explored the art of creating various essential oil-based products. The event was organised by the Institute of Soil Science and Plant Cultivation – State Research Institute (Puławy, Poland) on 07 June 2024 in cooperation with experienced pharmacist and herbalist. The workshops took place near Łuków at a herbal educational settlement. The event started with a short presentation about applying bioeconomy assumptions in every day life. Next, the attendees listened to a training on using the essential oils in different health conditions and went for a walk in the garden to discuss the practical usage of growing there plants.

First, the participants crafted a massage oil blend. They combined essential oils with a carrier oils like sweet almond oil, apricot oil. The resulting massage oils were soothing and aromatic, perfect for relaxation and therapeutic purposes. Next, they created a natural insect repellent for ticks and mosquitoes. The final product was both effective and pleasantly scented, providing a natural alternative to chemical repellents. The workshop then moved on to making roll-on perfumes. Participants selected their favorite essential oils and blended them with carrier oil. The personalized perfumes were easy to apply and offered a subtle, long-lasting fragrance.In the dental care segment, the attendees made natural toothpaste. Using a base of baking soda and coconut oil, they added essential oils like peppermint and tea tree for their antibacterial and refreshing properties.

Throughout the workshop, the atmosphere was vibrant and collaborative. Participants were eager to share their creations and learn from each other. The knowledge of the Herbalist gave deeper insights into the properties and uses of various essential oils, enhancing the learning experience. By the end of the day, everyone left with a collection of handmade essential oil products.The feedback was overwhelmingly positive. At the end of the organized workshops, the participants were treated to lunch, where we could continue discussions on the development of bioproducts.
