As a positive and consolidated appointment, thanks to the hospitality of ERION, CIRCOTRONIC project has been on the stage again!
Last November 2024, in Rimini (Italy) has taken place the 27th edition of the International Fair ECOMONDO, marking the largest attendance ever, reaching a +5% of total attendance, with more than 1,620 brands on a 166,000 M2 of Exhibition space.
“The number of foreign operators has further grown, mainly from the Euro-Mediterranean area and particularly from Germany Spain, Romania, France, Croatia, Greece, Serbia, Egypt Turkey and Tunisia. International operators from 121 countries, 72 sector associations and institutions at global level, 650 buyers from 65 countries, especially from North Africa, Europe, North America and Latin America, with a significant increase in buyers from Asia.
A system of relations and encounters that led to 3,500 business matching sessions during the four days of the show”. These the official figures reported soon after the closer of the Fair.
“Sustainability is at the core of urgency and of every future strategy, for society and businesses worldwide”, these the mantra emerging from the international fair that has attracted the participation of corporate technological innovation, the world of research, industry professionals and international delegations, with more than 200 conferences and workshops also accessible online thanks to the GreentechInsights b2b platform and the number of accredited journalists from all over the world reached 650!
Withing this relevant international frame, Circotronic has been presented in a workshop organized by ERION, focusing on best practices to optimize waste management, innovative solutions along the product value chain of high-tech products and opportunities offered by regulatory developments: the packaging regulations, battery regulations, CRM Act and the upcoming revision of the WEEE Directive.
The workshop has presented some initiatives and concrete cases involving three supply chains related to advanced technology products: electrical and electronic equipment (EEE), batteries and accumulators, and electronic product packaging.
Within the session dedicated to the “Solutions to improve the collection, preparation for reuse, and recycling of WEEE, Waste Batteries and Packaging Waste”, CIRCOTRONIC
has shared the results achieved so far and in more details:
· The project logical framework: partnership, budget, duration and main actions
· Circotronic Action plan: how it was built, main actions foreseen in each cooperating area and indicators identified
· The Pilot actions planned per Thematic working group ( TWG Design, TWG Materials and recovery and TWG Business Models and value Chains)
· The setting-up of Circular Lab(s) that will be both physical and virtual, devoted to targeted actions and initiatives supporting circularity in EEE sectors
By the time, CIRCOTRONIC partners commit further by signing the adoption of the Action plan, agreed and finalized, signing also a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that engages each PP in the creation of a Lab dedicated to the Circularity of EEE sectors.
Circotronic is also approaching the complete implementation of its activities and Emilia-Romagna Region, in charge to arrange the final event is already active in preparing to host all Partners in Italy..but stay tuned for further news on the way!!!!
