The NXTLVL Parking project also focused on citizens centred activity During May 2024, the general cycling public could use a map application to submit their requests for placement of new bicycle parking racks, parking boxes for shared bicycles or e-scooters, and spaces combining both options. In total, the employees of the department of the city architect’s office received 102 suggestions, all of which were subsequently evaluated and discussed. 40 locations have been selected as suitable for the implementation. “Based on selected locations, we created an action plan for the next three years for the placement of 114 racks with a capacity of 228 bicycle spaces and 9 parking spaces,” added the city cycling coordinator Stanislav Losert.
Citizens learned how individual suggestions were evaluated directly in the map application.
