During the celebration of World Meteorological Day and World Water Day on 21st March 2025 in Osijek, early warning systems contributing to Croatia’s climate resilience were presented. Among the key projects highlighted was Clim4Cast, which aims to improve monitoring, forecasting, and warnings for droughts, heatwaves, and wildfires.
Tomislav Kozarić, Croatian Clim4Cast’s team member and Head of the Analysis and Verification Division at Croatian Meteorological and Hydrological Service (DHMZ), emphasized that Clim4Cast provides an opportunity to develop more precise forecasts, enabling timely responses and reducing the impact of extreme weather events. The project builds on existing early warning systems, such as the Early Warning and Crisis Management System (SRUUK) and offers additional support to farmers through specialized forecasts and tools such as the Agroclimatic Atlas of Croatia.
On March 23, 2025, World Meteorological Day, Tomislav Kozarić was a guest on the live Studio 4 program, where he discussed the importance of early warning systems and the role of Clim4Cast in strengthening climate resilience.
