A key element of the project is rainwater management, which will help retain water and mitigate the effects of urban drought. As part of this solution, special water tanks will be introduced to collect and reuse rainwater. This system will not only benefit the environment but also aid in maintaining courtyard greenery, increasing biodiversity in the area.
The first meetings with residents took place in 2024, with further consultations planned for 2025. The modernization process will introduce climbing greenery, benches, bike racks, and pedestrian-friendly surfaces. The project also emphasizes the adaptation of historical architectural elements, such as original balustrades and gate details.
Łódź’s courtyard revitalization project combines modern solutions with a deep respect for the city’s historical character, creating spaces that are friendly to both residents and the environment.
