The GreenScape CE project team is excited to present the DIY Guide for Citizens, a practical resource to help individuals implement and fund Nature-Based Solutions (NBS) and Green Infrastructure (GI) in their daily environments. Whether aiming to combat climate change, improve air quality, reduce stress, grow food, or enhance property value, this interactive guide offers simple, accessible solutions to transform balconies, gardens, and neighborhoods into vibrant green spaces. It addresses a common challenge in European cities: the underappreciation of green spaces and their benefits. Through educational content on the free services provided by plants, step-by-step checklists for creating rain gardens and balcony gardens, interactive DIY videos, and recommendations for community collaboration, the guide empowers citizens to act. From composting initiatives to creating pocket parks, it provides inspiration and practical tools to make cities healthier, more resilient, and more biodiverse.
