Driving Climate Adaptation Strategies at the 2nd Climate_CRICES Partner Meeting in Dresden

Date: 31.01.2025
From January 29 to 31, 2025, the partners of the Climate_CRICES project gathered at the Leibniz Institute of Ecological Urban and Regional Development (IOER) in Dresden to discuss progress and next steps in strengthening climate adaptation efforts in Central Europe. The meeting provided a valuable opportunity for experts to exchange knowledge, refine strategies, and collaborate on innovative solutions for building climate resilience.

The three-day event focused on several key topics:

Refining indicators and policies to improve the project’s strategic framework for climate adaptation.

Conducting workshops with stakeholders to encourage collaboration and the co-creation of adaptive solutions.

Implementing pilot actions and a dashboard to track progress in climate resilience across different regions.

Enhancing communication strategies to effectively engage and inform stakeholders.

In addition to the discussions and workshops, participants explored Dresden’s cultural and natural heritage. A field visit to the tri-border region provided important insights into the impact of climate change on cross-border areas and potential adaptation measures.

The meeting was an excellent opportunity for partners to strengthen cooperation and reaffirm their commitment to developing effective climate adaptation strategies. The constructive discussions and collaborative efforts demonstrated the dedication of all participants to making a meaningful impact in Central Europe.

A special thanks to IOER Dresden for organizing and hosting the event, creating an ideal setting for productive exchanges and cooperation.

We appreciate the contributions of all project partners whose expertise and commitment are driving the success of Climate_CRICES. Together, we are working towards a more resilient and sustainable future for the region.
