Date: 10.02.2025

Split, February 10 – In a bid to foster environmental consciousness among the younger generation, fourth-grade students at Elementary School Plokite in Split participated in an engaging and educational workshop on electric and electronic waste (EE waste). The event, organized in collaboration with PI RERA SD and the NGO Unicompost, provided students with valuable insights into sustainable living and the importance of responsible waste management.

Through interactive sessions and hands-on activities, the young participants explored the complexities of electronic waste disposal and its impact on the environment. By filling out thought-provoking handouts, students enhanced their understanding of proper EE waste disposal techniques and the significance of recycling.

One of the highlights of the workshop was a thrilling puzzle competition, where students raced against time to complete an educational puzzle related to EE waste. Additionally, a memory game introduced an element of fun while reinforcing essential lessons on responsible electronic waste disposal.

The enthusiasm and active participation of the students were a testament to the effectiveness of such initiatives in instilling sustainable practices at an early age. The workshop was part of a broader educational campaign under the Circular WEEEP project, which aims to equip young minds with the knowledge and skills needed to contribute to a greener future.

By engaging students in meaningful discussions and activities centered on environmental conservation, Circular WEEEP takes pride in shaping the next generation of eco-conscious citizens. With more workshops and initiatives in the pipeline, the project continues to inspire young learners to take proactive steps toward sustainability and responsible waste management.

As the students of Elementary School Plokite eagerly embraced the lessons from the workshop, they set an example for their peers and community—proving that small steps today can lead to a more sustainable tomorrow.
