Engaging Young Minds in Environmental Awareness: EE Waste Workshop in Split

Date: 20.03.2025
As part of an ongoing effort to promote environmental awareness among young learners, fourth-grade students in Split recently took part in an educational workshop focused on electric and electronic waste (EE waste). A total of 40 students actively participated in the event, which was organized in collaboration with PI RERA SD and the NGO Unicompost. The workshop provided valuable insights into sustainable living and the importance of responsible waste management.

Through a combination of interactive discussions and hands-on activities, students explored the challenges of electronic waste disposal and its environmental impact. Thought-provoking handouts guided them in understanding proper disposal techniques and the critical role of recycling in reducing waste.

A major highlight of the workshop was an exciting puzzle competition, where students competed to complete an educational puzzle related to EE waste. Additionally, a memory game brought a fun and engaging element to the session while reinforcing essential lessons on responsible electronic waste disposal.

The enthusiasm and active participation of the students demonstrated the effectiveness of such initiatives in fostering sustainable habits from an early age. This workshop was conducted as part of the Circular WEEEP project, an educational campaign dedicated to equipping young learners with the knowledge and skills needed to contribute to a greener future.
