This year event was held on Thursday, 19th of September. Slogan of this year’s European mobility week was: »udoben javni prostor – za vse« (comfortable public space for everyone). Main event was held on main square in Kamnik, where different public organisations such as police, fire brigade, emergency ambulance assistance and city guards had their stands or presentation based on mobility or their role in it.
Second event was held on Saturday within PopUpUrbanSpaces project, organised by project team, with different focus groups of visitors. If the main event was mostly for the children, this, Saturday’s event was focused on pedestrians in general and cyclists in the city centre. Visitors could repair their bikes for free, there was exhibition of good practices in sustainable mobility and case studies and a stand, where citizens could suggest or complain about certain topics, connected to mobility.
The most important achievements within this week were, that several parking spaces were closed in the city, and that people used streets for walking and not for parking, and there were many events for kids and certain groups of mobility users (such as cyclists). Municipality of Kamnik also provided free bus lines, so that the kids from schools could visit those events.
