First Open Innovation Camp in Germany

Date: 28.01.2024
On January 16, 2024, the University Hospital Carl Gustav Carus at TU Dresden AöR (UKD) and Carus Consilium Sachsen GmbH (CCS) as project partners invited guests to the first Open Camp of the Health Labs4Value project. The event organizers held various workshops with the support of representatives from the University Center for Orthopaedics, Trauma & Plastic Surgery (OUPC) at the Carl Gustav Carus University Hospital and  potential pilot project partner, Dora GmbH (originally members of the DigitalHealth research group at TU Dresden). The topic of hip surgery aroused particular interest among the participants thanks to a very interesting presentation by the OUPC. The following presentation of the ActiveTEP app, which is designed to support patients in the pre- and post-operative care of an upcoming hip operation through movement exercises, knowledge transfer and self-management assistance, reinforced the projects focus on this problem area. We are very pleased with how the Open Camp went and are delighted that we were able to gain valuable support for our project from the group of senior citizens. The participants gave us valuable feedback and provided important impulses for the possible further development of the app. We are confident that we can make an important contribution to improving pre- and post-operative care for hip operations with the ActiveTEP app and look forward to continuing our collaboration with all participants.
