GreenScape CE Project Presented at the Safety and Quality of Food Conference in Poreč

Date: 06.11.2024

The Andrija Štampar Teaching Institute of Public Health (ASTIPH), in collaboration with the project’s Lead Partner REGEA, represented the GreenScape CE project at the Safety and Quality of Food Conference held in Poreč, Croatia, from November 6-9, 2024.

During this hybrid event, ASTIPH highlighted the pivotal role of Nature-Based Solutions (NBS), such as urban agriculture, in enhancing green infrastructure in urban areas. These innovative solutions offer numerous benefits, including promoting biodiversity, supporting climate change adaptation, improving air quality, and enhancing human health and well-being.

Public participation emerged as a cornerstone of the GreenScape CE project, emphasizing the involvement of local communities in creating greener, more sustainable urban environments. A key feature presented was the development of indicators and methodologies to assess the potential of NBSs. These tools aim to provide communities with practical guidance for implementing effective green interventions.
