On January 29, 2025, the inaugural roundtable of the MESTRI-CE Interreg Central Europe project convened in Bolzano, focusing on Work Package 1 (WP1) – Smart Data Management. This event, held during the Klimahouse fair at the CasaClima Agency’s stand, marked a significant step towards enhancing building management through advanced data integration and interoperability.

Advancing Smart Data Management

WP1 aims to revolutionize building management by integrating diverse data sources and ensuring their seamless interoperability with digital tools. This approach is designed to streamline the development of renovation strategies and plans, facilitating the achievement of climate neutrality by 2050, in alignment with European Union directives.

The Role of the Smart Data Hub

A central component of WP1 is the development of the Smart Data Hub. This innovative platform will serve as a centralized repository for building-related data, enabling comprehensive analysis and informed decision-making. By providing stakeholders with access to accurate and up-to-date information, the Smart Data Hub aims to support the planning and execution of effective renovation projects across Central Europe.

Collaborative Efforts and Future Outlook

The roundtable facilitated a collaborative environment where experts and stakeholders discussed the technical requirements and functionalities of the Smart Data Hub. Insights from this discussion will inform the ongoing development of the platform, ensuring it meets the diverse needs of users involved in building renovation and management.

As the MESTRI-CE project progresses, the focus will remain on leveraging smart data management to promote sustainable building practices. The outcomes of WP1 are expected to contribute significantly to the overarching goal of climate neutrality, setting a precedent for innovative approaches in the realm of building renovation and environmental responsibility.
