Bioeconomy as an opportunity for sustainable development was presented to the participants of the Bioeconomy Changemakers Festival, organized by Agricultural Research, LtD. Troubsko, BIOEAST HUB CZ and MENDELU Brno in the representative premises of the Brno municipality. At the event, which was attended by more than 50 participants, mainly university students not only from Czech, but from many European countries and India too an edition of 16 information sheets on the bioeconomy was presented. The event was part of a European festival and it was a unique opportunity to inform the public about the BIOECO UP project and its outputs towards bioeconomy education. Jan Nedělník, director of Agricultural Research, LtD. Troubsko, who is also a member of the solution team of the BIOECO Up project, gave the opening speech. He presented the project goals, but mainly the individual information sheets. They are prepared in both English and Czech. They present bioeconomy to the public from a general perspective, but also examples of good practice. They were interested in information about the composting process, biogas production, but also the value chain of hemp or artificially grown mushrooms.
Information materials are available to the public in electronic as well as printed form. The short and easy-to-understand info sheets covering 16 topics have been developed by the international research team and will be available soon on the official website of the BIOECO-UP project both in English and in national languages.
