Initial Assessment on Private Sector Circular Green Public Procurement

Date: 26.09.2024

In September 2024, CE-PRINCE partners have started to invite business actors of Central Europe to participate in the questionnaire prepared by Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies – to be part of the change and to achieve a circular economy together.

The CE-PRINCE survey aims to contribute to a study measuring the level of circularity of European businesses and their participation in circular/green public procurement activities, by providing an overview of the level of circularity of businesses in each region of our transnational partnership. It takes into account GPP criteria to identify the aspects to be improved and to increase their circularity and capacity to apply for green public tenders.

The responses will help to explore the ‘circularity’ associated with the different stages of the supply chain in each business sector producing a product/service, such as procurement, design, manufacturing, logistics, use and consumption and waste management. The survey will also examine the organisational incentives and barriers that companies face when participating in public procurement processes.

The outcome of this assessment will form the basis for the development of a transnational Green Public Procurement strategy and will help companies and procuring entities to implement circular business models to achieve green transition, improve market competitiveness while stimulating eco-innovation.
