The bioeconomy has great potential to support rural areas and the green transformation, especially by incorporating its instruments within the framework of the Common Agricultural Policy.
This topic was addressed by the representative of the Polish partner, IUNG-PIB, Piotr Jurga, during his presentation titled “Integrating Bioeconomy in the Common Agricultural Policy: Strategic Planning and Action Plan Insights from Poland and the BIOECO-UP Project” at the “Green Transformation in European Rural Areas” conference, held in Vilnius, Lithuania, on September 11-13, 2024. Referring to the current tasks within the BIOECO-UP project, he presented an analysis (SNA, TOWS methodology) that could enable a greater inclusion of the bioeconomy within the CAP.
Participation in the conference was a unique opportunity to showcase and promote the BIOECO-UP project and the BIOEAST initiative among participants and members of the ERDN network.
