The city installed over 70 new bicycle and scooter racks at three elementary schools and three kindergartens in Olomouc, creating parking spaces for 138 bicycles and 18 scooters.
Children and parents will find new stands at Gorkého Elementary School (12 bike racks), Svatoplukova Elementary School (30 bike racks), Stupkova Elementary School (16 bike racks and 2 scooter racks), Škrétova Kindergarten (5 bike racks and 1 scooter racks), Rooseveltova Kindergarten (3 bike racks) and Lužická Kindergarten (3 bike racks). The schools and kindergartens listed were selected after contacting all school facilities operated by the city. “We were pleasantly surprised by how widely these new racks are used in schools,” said Martin Luňáček from the department of the city architect’s office and a member of the project team. The city installed the new stands as a sustainable mobility support measure within the NXTLVL Parking project.
