On September 24, 2024, the Fire University hosted a training entitled “Preparation for and Management of Multi-Hazard Events”. The training aimed to equip local authorities, services, crisis management specialists, civil protection specialists, communities, and non-governmental organizations with the necessary knowledge and skills to prepare for and effectively manage multi-task events, in particular those involving extreme weather phenomena. A total of 495 people participated in the training conducted in a hybrid format (online using the ClickMeeting application and in person at the Fire University headquarters in Warsaw). The training program included the following topics: • Opening and Introduction to training (Tomasz Zwęgliński, Adrian Bralewski) • Understanding multi-hazard events (Paweł Gromek) • Preparedness planning (Magdalena Gikiewicz) • Response strategies (Marcin Łapicz) • Resilience Building and Recovery (Barbara Szykuła-Piec) • Decision-making simulation game and focus group discussion as a tool for preparation for multi-hazard events (Adrian Bralewski, Magdalena Gikiewicz) • End of training (Adrian Bralewski)
