ENVIROS participated in the Reuse Day even that took place in Jihlava on Sunday, 8 September. This event was organised by local nonprofit organisation, Silo Jihlava, reuse centre Útulek věcí (“Shelter of things”) and SWAP Jihlava in cooperation with Reuse federation.
The day-long event included a swap (exchange) of clothes, but also other products (toys, flowers), a sewing workshop, a demonstration of furniture renovation or products made from reused materials. A creative workshop and an educational trail on the theme of reuse and waste were prepared for the young participants.
A number of speakers took turns on stage with interesting contributions on the topics of reuse, waste management and recycling or education. One of the highlights was a fashion show of models created using discarded clothing and textiles.
The importance of reuse lies in reusing items or materials, which helps to reduce waste and save primary resources. By reusing items, there is less environmental impact and energy savings.
