Strengthening the BIOEAST Initiative through the BIOECO-UP Project

On March 5, 2025, the BIOECO-UP project was presented at the conference “Bioeconomy: Innovation and Sustainable Development. Circular Bio-based Europe Joint Undertaking Info Day” in Warsaw. The event, co-organized by the Polish National Bioeconomy Hub and the National Contact Point for EU Research Programs at the National Centre for Research and Development (NCBR) in Poland, gathered key stakeholders to discuss opportunities for bioeconomy funding and collaboration.

As part of our commitment to fostering sustainable bioeconomy in Central and Eastern Europe, a representative of the Institute of Soil Science and Plant Cultivation – State Research Institute, Piotr Jurga, presented how the BIOECO-UP project actively supports the BIOEAST initiative. Our presentation highlighted also how Living Labs, co-creation methodologies, and biomass valorization strategies contribute to BIOEAST’s mission of strengthening the bioeconomy on national levels.

The BIOECO-UP project’s contribution attracted attention from various stakeholders, including: Experts in bioeconomy and sustainable development Representatives of the European Commission and CBE JU Researchers and innovators from leading scientific institutions Industry professionals interested in bio-based solutions Policymakers shaping national and European bioeconomy strategies

As we move forward, BIOECO-UP will continue to play a vital role in the development of BIOEAST, contributing to developing research, innovation, and policy frameworks that shape the future of bioeconomy in Central and Eastern Europe.
