Project overview
Increasing Climate Change Resilience in Central Europe
Huge quantities of environmental and meteorological data are already available both within public institutions and from open sources. But how to make sense of all the data to improve public responses to heatwaves, droughts, floods and reduce their impact on biodiversity? The Climate_CRICES project enhances the capacity of public authorities to manage climate change effects projected by the data. A dashboard visualises available data and will be further tested and rolled out to policy makers. In addition, a joint strategy developed by the project helps them to better use those data.

Roadmap
Increasing Climate Change Resilience in Central Europe
Climate_CRICES project, a groundbreaking initiative dedicated to enhancing climate change resilience across Central Europe. Objective: Leveraging environmental and meteorological data to improve responses to heat waves, droughts and floods and to protect biodiversity Innovation: Development of a comprehensive dashboard for visualizing and interpreting data, aiding policymakers in making informed decisions. Collaboration: Joint strategy development to optimize data usage among public authorities.
Driving Innovation for Climate Resilience: Climate_CRICES Achieves Key Milestones
The Climate_CRICES project is making remarkable strides in its mission to address climate change impacts. Since its launch in september in Venice, the project has focused on developing innovative methods for analyzing climate challenges, grounded in a comprehensive database of indicators based on the latest scientific research. The two-day Kick off event included presentations on core strategies, workshops on dashboard development, climate policy analysis, and data integration. Networking sessions and a tour of Venice highlighted the city’s role in climate adaptation. Day two centered on financial management, risk mitigation, and next steps, with stakeholders sharing insights on regional challenges. The meeting concluded at Palazzo Balbi, underscoring the collective commitment to bolstering climate resilience.
Synergies Roundtable on Climate Change Resilience (October 9, 2024)
Representatives from the Climate_CRICES project—Lead Partner (Veneto Region), Workpackage 1 Leader (IOER), and Communication Manager (CDDA)—participated in the online Synergies Roundtable on Supporting Climate-Neutral Energy Transition on 9th October 2024. The event brought together projects from the first and second Interreg Central Europe calls to showcase progress, explore synergies, and discuss collaboration opportunities. Participants presented concise overviews of their work, followed by breakout sessions to map synergies using a Miro whiteboard. The roundtable provided a valuable platform for exchanging ideas and fostering cooperation toward a climate-neutral energy transition.
