Project overview
COrporate digital responsibility skills in central EUropean Smart specialisation
The digital transformation is putting established ways of doing business to the test. This offers opportunities, but also harbours risks. Companies have to be aware of their digital responsibilities to shape the process of digitalisation and guarantee it serves the best interests of citizens. The COEUS project supports small and medium companies to meet legal requirements and make digital responsibility a normal part of their day-to-day business. The partners test and validate a new programme to upskill and reskill employees with respect to corporate digital responsibility. They also develop a strategy and action plans to increase capacities of public authorities.

Roadmap
CHALLENGE
Ensuring that digitalisation is achieved in Central Europe (CE) - with social, economic, technological and environmental responsibility.
SPECIFIC PROBLEM
Digitalisation opens SMEs up to socio-environmental, ethical and economic risks. CDR is the answer to tackling these risks, but the uptake of CDR is not automatic.
IDEA
COEUS addresses the challenge of a lack of responsible digitalisation skills in SMEs, by proposing an approach that builds SME employees’ capacity to assess and take steps to addressing responsible digitalization.
SOLUTION
Our solution is to consolidate CDR knowledge and capacity among partners and stakeholders, create and train a transnational pool of CDR trainers; lastly, to create an SME upskilling/reskilling programme.
HOW IT WORKS
COEUS results in 1) methodology for stakeholder engagement in CDR skill support, 2) a jointly development upskilling /reskilling programme, and 3) s Strategy and Action Plans for CDR skills in CE, formally taken up by partner organisations before project end
IMPACT
In the long term, COEUS contributes to a competitive SME ecosystem, based on a digital transition that mitigates risks and encourages positive socio-environmental impact
