Transnational cooperation programmes: a unique asset for the European Union.
For over 25 years, Interreg transnational programmes have shown their ability to address complex socio-economic, environmental and societal issues at the European level. We firmly believe in the unique ability of transnational programmes to drive transformation and strengthen cohesion across Europe.
This brochure represents the collective efforts of all 13 transnational Interreg programmes, working in partnership with the support of Interact, showcasing the power of cooperation in creating a more united and sustainable future for all regions.
A Year in Review
Our programme highlights in 2024
In 2024, we kicked-off 47 new projects and launched our third call, which saw an overwhelming response. As the year progressed, we worked closely with projects, supporting them in their implementation and fostering synergies among them.
We also consulted our stakeholders about the future of Interreg. The insights gathered will guide our next steps, helping us shape future calls and strengthen cooperation across central Europe.

Final implementation report
2014-2020
In the programming period 2014-2020, we funded 138 transnational projects, which were selected within four calls for proposals. The calls were strategically designed to help central European regions and cities to adapt to changing framework conditions through developing and testing innovative approaches and learning from experience.
Our transnational cooperation projects helped to enhance stakeholder capacity, build trust and deliver innovative and high-quality products and services across central Europe.
